The home buying process begins with the Portland Housing Center's FREE Orientation, either on line or in person, where you will learn about our services.

The more you know about the home buying process, the more confident you will be. The same is true for owning. With HomeOwner Basics you will be a smarter home buyer and a smarter homeowner. HomeOwner Basics includes the following key ingredients.

• Pre-Closing Meeting

When education is not enough the Portland Housing Center offers financial assistance programs to eligible home buyers. These programs are matched with our Participating Lenders' first mortgages.

• Mortgage Assistance Program (MAP)
• Individual Savings Account (IDA)
